Marlins in position to sweep O's thanks to 6-3 win

Mandatory Credit: Jim Rassol-USA TODAY Sports Jazz Chisholm Jr. drove in two runs with a seventh-inning double to break a tie and the Miami Marlins went on to defeat the visiting Baltimore Orioles 6-3 on Wednesday night.
Miami's Josh Bell hit a solo home run to ignite a three-run fourth inning before the Orioles rallied.
The Marlins have won consecutive games for just the third time this month and will go for a three-game series sweep on Thursday afternoon.
Marlins starter Edward Cabrera was splendid until the Orioles loaded the bases with one out in the sixth. That forced the right-hander out of the game, and Huascar Brazoban took over on the mound.
Brazoban got Jordan Westburg to pop out, but Colton Cowser followed with a three-run double to tie things at 3-3. Cabrera was charged with all three runs, also allowing three hits in his 5 1/3 innings. He walked four and struck out six.
Andrew Nardi (2-1) picked up the win with one inning of shutout relief. Tanner Scott worked a hitless ninth for his 18th save of the season.
The late innings overshadowed the big-league debut of Orioles starter Chayce McDermott, who lasted four innings and surrendered three runs on five hits. McDermott walked two and fanned three.
Miami's Xavier Edwards, who went 3-for-3, led off the bottom of the seventh with a single. Cionel Perez came on in relief and walked Nick Gordon before Ali Sanchez's sacrifice bunt put runners at second and third for Chisholm, who delivered with his double. Bryan De La Cruz then smacked an RBI single to complete the scoring.
Jacob Webb (1-5) was tagged with the loss.
McDermott gave up a single and walked two in the second inning, but a double play helped him escape the frame unscathed. He wasn't as fortunate two innings later.
Bell's one-out solo home run was his 11th long ball of the season. Edwards singled to drive in the next run, and Gordon's sacrifice fly made it 3-0.
Cowser finished with two of Baltimore's four hits. The Orioles have dropped eight of their past 11 games.
